The Motorcycle Dealers Association of Indiana (MDAI) became a subsidiary association of the Automobile Dealers Association of Indiana, Inc. , better known as ADAI, in May of 1984. MDAI is a trade association made up of franchised new motorcycle dealers throughout the State of Indiana working in conjunction with the 615 franchised new motor vehicle dealers of Indiana focusing on government relations, education and customer satisfaction.
The Associations’ office is located in Indianapolis at 150 W. Market Street, Suite 812, Indianapolis, IN 46204. The day-to-day activities are carried out by a staff of five, including the ADAI Executive Vice President, Regulatory Agency Liaison, a lobbyist, Executive Assistant and Membership/Services Manager. MDAI association policy is determined by five Board of Directors elected by the general MDAI membership.
The Associations, in addition to working with Indiana policy makers, also serve as a conduit to Indiana’s regulatory agencies including the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Indiana Attorney General and the Departments of Revenue, Insurance and Transportation. Legal issues are an intricate part of the membership services provided by MDAI / ADAI.
MDAI via ADAI sponsors dealership personnel training seminars and develops business forms used in dealership operation. Although lobbying the Indiana General Assembly is it’s primary purpose, the Association also serves as liaison between dealer members and local government agencies throughout Indiana.
