GM & CHRYSLER DEALER UPDATES

GENERAL STATEMENT

As many of you know our retained law firm, Stewart & Irwin, has been conducting web casts giving dealers up-to-date information on current manufacturer issues, including the Chrysler bankruptcy, the GM dealership issues, etc.  Stewart & Irwin has posted on its website a series of small bulletins for daily updates as to these different issues.  You may transfer to that website using the link below or you may go to their website at www.silegal.com  or www.siautolaw.com

Stewart & Irwin has also entered into a collaboration with one of the state’s leading bankruptcy law firms, Hostetler & Kowalik.  That collaboration will be led by Ron Smith of Stewart & Irwin and Jim Kowalik of Hostetler & Kowalik as to specific dealer (manufacturer) bankruptcy issues. 
General industry bankruptcy issues are being handled under the NADA program.  Specific dealer issues, for example, pursuing a claim in bankruptcy for a cancelled, terminated or non-renewed franchise, filing claims for individual dealers, etc., need to be handled outside of the NADA program through other dealer counsel.
